10am Mon 27th April, 8 cows found, the 7 youngsters and the steer 035 on the right side of fence by the Folly Hill traffic lights. All eating except for 159 being mounted by 176, they seem well. No other cows sighted. The post and wire fence from there around to Sandy Hill is a bit ropey in places. Some of the posts are loose. The first photo isn't very good, the wire is pulled down and tied. Stay Well, Marina

No cows .....
Another lovely day on Caesar's, and though didn't see any cows, did meet, at last, Tommy Simpson, one of the people who spend hours each week litter picking there and who have recently been putting litter bags in various places round the site which is making a huge difference. Big thanks to him and his pals.

Beautiful afternoon!
We found 7 cows beside the path at about Q19. They were all grazing happily and looked fine. We did however notice that number 177, a cow with a black head and neck and mostly white body had a wound on her left shoulder. It had been bleeding and was, inevitably, attracting lots of flies.
And the other 13....
....were suspiciously close to the exit onto Beacon Hill in the early evening, showing great interest in the cattle grid and the gate. All seemed well. Another beautiful and busy evening up there.

Most on Sandy Hill in 2 herds apart from the unsociable 035.
Most spread in 2 herds over Sandy Hill so thats where I've dropped off the licks. Fences good. 2 were in the woodland between Sandy and Old Shell Garage, and obe (namely 035 adult brown and white steer) decided he'd stay ss far away as he could! Sandy area near the Old Pavilion!? No concerns, just on his own? A bit strange but not unheard of with this fella.

Tuesday 21st April @ 09.30
Saw 13 cows happily grazing near the Sandy hill Entrance towards the water (one down the bank in the water). Three words location: Price speedily Wired.
Monday 20th April.
After a couple of calls about two cattle being outside the fence and grazing on the verge next to the A325 I headed over to the site as quick as I could.
Fortunately one of the local PCSO's and a member of public had managed to get the two cattle in by the time I arrived so I repaired the fence damage where they had escaped (caused by a branch falling on a rotten post).
Once the repair was done I set off to find the cattle and soon found them all around the brambly area at the top of the concrete road leading up from the Pavillion end of the site. I took a while to confirm they were all there as a few of them were right out in the deepest bramble patches, I got them all eventually though.
All looking well.

Late afternoon walk
Took a late afternoon walk in the sunshine. We came across 7 cows on the Sandy Hill path. All looked well. They seemed happy and calm.
It was nice to come across Guy mending the fence, having saved the escaped steer. Makes a change to have a chat, of course at an appropriate distance! Stay well everyone.

Call out time, one of the adult steers got out and dangerously close to the rd.
The culprit was 021 adult steer. Had tp cut through the fence to get the dummy out. Looked like he hopped over a low hanging part (there are many, we know).
Still, all good back in and fence sorted. Was a lovely, sunny day.

Tuesday evening - all together
All 15 were moving away from the James Bond Pond this evening - all seemed fine and calm. Still a few people around and a pesky trail bike in the woodland near the entrance onto Beacon Hill.
All found in 2 herds.
Main herd were tucked away just East of The Look out point in what3words location: requiring.extension.grab.
Four of the lil'ulil'uns were between the James Bond pond and Sandy Hill. All looking well.
Dropped off a lick to each. I also checked the usual points for vandalism and happy to report all good this far. Considering the reports of scrambler activity that's pretty Good!

Adults only
The brown and white Shetlands plus 72 and 940 were near the James Bond Pond early today - looked fine. Masses of people about with such glorious weather and the gorse looking at its best, quite hard to keep a distance on the main tracks, but we are very fortunate to have the area close by.
Sunday am
No cattle sightings this morning. Many people using the area, it’s a pity they feel it’s OK to discard antiseptic wipes and rubber gloves all over the place. It is particular bad around the gates at the Aldershot end.

All 15 on Sandy Hill, they certainly have a faboured spot up here?
Looked around for signs of feeding but can't see any. The grass banks here will always be a draw i guess. I've not helped the siuation by dropping off a couple licks haha. They certainly tucked syraight in.
Quite a bit of bulling noted as well via the older boys to yhe young heiffers. I'm suprised they're sticking around!
Another quick fence repair and a lot of people, most of which appear to adhering to the rules which is nice to see.

Wednesdayt eve
And the seven younger ones were grazing happily close to the exit from Caesar's onto Beacon Hill. All looked well.
Trail bikes the other end of the site, near the exits close to the Tesco's roundabout. Didn't have a chance to check the fencing, so not sure how they got onto the site.

A day Late!
Sorry, forgot to post this 'unofficial' blog yesterday! In the afternoon we were taking our allowed exercise on the ranges and came across 10 cows on the top path beside Sandy hill. They were relaxed and happy and we thought they all looked particularly healthy and glossy in the sunshine. We found a further solitary brown cow in amongst the gorse at the Lookout. Quite a lot of people about but everyone keeping a good distance.
Stay well everyone

Sunday 5 April 8:45
7 cows grazing on Sandy Hill while slowly walking North. All looked fine.
Interestingly I saw a magpie jump onto the side of one of them a couple of times - similar to how an ox-pecker does.
