Steers 33, 217, 219, 220, 222, 230, and 1626 were grazing in the thicket near the Bourley Road car park at 16:30 this afternoon. Youngsters 222 and 230 were especially friendly, each coming straight over to say hello and enjoy a long neck rub. Nearby, cows 72 and 940, along with yearling 270, were happily grazing closer to the cow shed.
Further west along the track by Bourley Road, steers 20, 21, 35, 227, and 228, along with cows 214 and 234, were also grazing in the thicket. They were enjoying a mix of grass and leaves from the surrounding bushes. All seventeen cattle were happy, relaxed, and looking well.
At 17:40, the remaining six Sussex cattle were grazing in the wooded area east of the water tower, near ///ethic.require.kite. They all took turns coming over and saying hello before enjoying some strokes. Cow 211 was particularly affectionate, relishing a long neck and back scratch and rewarding me with gentle head rubs and a few licks. All six appeared happy and healthy.
By 18:25, the final two—older steer 30 and yearling 271—were off on their own, grazing contentedly in the thicket near ///unions.delays.cork. They were enjoying the variety of leaves growing in the area. Although separated from the main herd, both were relaxed, happy, and looking well.
The cows were all good today.
