All eighteen members of the Caesar's original herd were happily grazing in the shade of the trees near the Bourley Road car park at 16:20 this afternoon. They gradually made their way west along the fence line, enjoying plenty of leaves from the surrounding trees and bushes. From time to time, they'd step out into the sunshine to munch on some grass or take a refreshing drink.
They were all very friendly, with most coming over to say hello and enjoy a few strokes. Although the warm sunshine had brought out plenty of flies, the cattle didn't seem too bothered. Youngster 230 particularly enjoyed a long back scratch, wriggling about to ensure I reached all his itchy spots, while youngster 219 favoured a neck and shoulder rub. When I left them at 17:15, the group had moved further west along Bourley Road, near ///texts.ideals.broth. They were all happy, relaxed, and looking well.
At 17:40, the seven Sussex cattle were contentedly grazing on leaves in the shade of the trees near ///trackers.grab.rounds. They were equally friendly, taking turns to come over and greet me. Cow 211 was especially affectionate, enjoying a long neck and back rub, and rewarding me with gentle head rubs and licks. All seven appeared happy, healthy, and at ease.
The cows were all good today.
