From the look out point we saw a few cows near where the gate is to the restricted area. They were heading towards the Bourley road car park. No more seen.

    Sunday am

No cattle sightings, just gangs of mushroom pickers.

    Friday 28 August 2020

An hour ago there were at least 12 on eastern slope of Long Bottom above the Horse Pond.  All appeared well and to have put on much weight.  Some were grazing on the woodland floor where there is no grass - could it be that they were eating the recently fallen acorns ?

    09.56 Fri 28th Aug

None seen on our walk but I did see one as we passed the Cranmore road gate, next to the nursery. It might of been one of the Gelvert mob, I didn't get a good look.

    0930 Fri 14th Aug

On this wonderfully cool misty morning we found 3 cows at w3w pebbles.configure.hotels. 940 came and licked my hand for some reason best known to him. Buzz (035) and the black and white without a tag make up the 3 and all seemed to be irritated by the flies. Apart from that they were eating and moving towards James Bond pond. none of the others seen.                                                                 Stay Safe, Marina & Des

    Tuesday 11 August 2020

Tuesday 11th August - All Seen.

Found all the cattle this morning after a bit of searching. They were split into three groups today.

One group were at the western end of the James Bond pond, a couple of them paddling while the others were grazing on the nearby open heath.

The next group were the four Hereford X and they were next to the horse pond.

The final group were a little way down Long Bottom grazing amongst some tall gorse and bracken.

Although there were a couple of cattle with tear streaks, they're all looking fine with no issues to report.

Four (+ one deer) on hillside overlooking the Horse Pond and moving down the valley.

    Monday evening

The four youngsters 9the jumpers) were grazing near the handgate at the western end of Sandy Hills, keeping a safe distance from a group - six brown and white ones, 940, 155 and another two blacks (one of which seemed to be missing ear tags, but I was keeping a distance ....) - most of whom were having an argy bargy about something - lots of head butting, mounting and circling - may be the hot weather has got to them too!

But a lovely evening up there

    Monday 10 August 2020

    0915 Mon 10th Aug

We parked on Bourley Road for a change and found the 4 youngsters laying in and by the shed looking very tired. As we walked around to Horse Pond we saw 7 in the long grass, eating and seeming content w3w passport.warthog.gurgled. Flies a bother for them and the shed four. On the way back the 4 where all standing in the shed not looking happy, not eating and not near any water. None of the others seen.

    Sunday 9 August 2020

    Sunday am

No cattle sightings, but I noticed that some kind person has removed all the signs (cattle grazing, ground nesting birds etc) from the Alexandra Road gate.

    Friday 7 August 2020

    0915 Fri 7th Aug

No cow sighting today but did spend 10 very happy mins sat watching a kingfisher at Horse pond. Our walk was from Sandy Hill down to Long Bottom, along to Horse pond. Around that and up through the woods to the main path/road way passed James Bond and back round to Sandy Hill.                                     Stay Safe, Marina & Des

    Wednesday 5 August 2020

    Tuesday

So yesterday afternoon I found an extra four cows on Caesars which explains why the Gelvert lot have been hard to find!

    All 19 seemed fine!

There were five younger shetlands up by the shell garage and the rest including the four from GCA were all down in long bottom just up from the horse pond.

    All good

    Tuesday 4 August 2020

    Tuesday early eve

And just saw the four newer ones - ie those I thought were now on Gelvert ...???  They were on the track at the bottom of the slope behind Sandy Hills - grazing and looking fine.  Are they jumpers or have they been moved back?

    Monday 3 August 2020

    0940 Mon 3rd Aug

We found Ezra 147 in the woods seemingly on his own but Brian 030 was no far away. Brian was making free with an oak tree. The rest where by Horse pond, mostly in the woody thicket with one munching on iris island. Ezra and Brian joined them so we think we saw them all.
