Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    0900 Fri 29th Jan 12 seen

Towards the end of our walk we found 12 cows around the hut near the Bourley Road car park. While collecting the numbers the 940 gave my hands a thorough licking and a little chew. It is usually the Gelvert lot that do that but they were among the not seen along with 033, 035, and 147. We also saw 2 long tailed tits and some squirrels. Stay Safe, Marina & Des

All found on the open sandy bed by sunny hill.

Dropped off two licks for them.

No issues to report all look happy.

    0900 Mon 25th Jan None

In the cause of safety stayed on as flat a path as we could. We walked the length of Sandy Hill around James Bond and the occasional pond to Ceasers Camp. Had a good look round from there then back passed the ponds. Saw none of the cows so maybe they are still at the Pavilion end rooting round for acorns. Stay Safe, Marina & Des

    0900 Mon 11th Jan None

None seen this morning. Turned right out of a Sandy Hill gate, down to Horse Pond, looked over the area where we saw the cows on Friday, up through the woods to Ceasers Camp. Had a good look round from there, off the back to James Bond Pond, around the little pond next to that, back to Sandy Hill. Not so many people about today. Thank you both for the info on H32. We have looked at the lookers map but it is so messy and difficult to read, atleast our copy is. Stay Safe, Marina & Des.

    Friday 8 January 2021

Spilt up a little later on Friday ......

Just nine grazing later on Friday in Long Bottom, below Sandy Hills.  They looked well and non plussed by the cold weather.

I think the H32 area is at the Pavilion End, near Sunny Hill.

0900 Fri 8th Jan, Saw All

We saw all today spread out along the acorn rich area next to the Long Bottom trail approx ///pasta.bookmark.custard, heading towards the Horse Pond. Stay Safe, Marina & Des

Does anyone know the significance of the small blue flags some, if not all, of which can be seen along Long Bottom?

We saw a lone cow at approx ///broadcast.hack.affirming. We were on Sandy Hill and it was walking, with purpose, right to left relative to us. Not one of the Gelvert 3 or the grey but definitely more white than brown or black. We did try to catch up with it but to no avail so no number. None of the others were seen. Stay Safe, Marina & Des
