Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    0900 Mon 22nd Feb. None

None seen today, we walked from the Bourley Road car park up through the trees skirting the road to the large sandy area. Crossed that to the long bottom path as far as the Horse Pond, right passed the pond up to the main/wide path and back towards the sandy area with the fence on our left. We took the path through the gorse and had a good look around there. Then took the tarmac path back to the car. Stay Safe, Marina & Des

    Friday 19 February 2021

0915 Fri 19th Feb. All found

We found all 18 cows at approx ///wages.count.lies. All seemed well eating gorse and still looking for acorns. 198 came bounding over and had it's usual chew on my fingers followed by 194. The grey 940 also seems to like investigating my hands. I hope covid is not going to jump to the bovine population cause they wash my hands almost as often as I do. Stay Safe, Marina & Des

    Wednesday

After a long walk checking all their recent haunts we found 7 cows, 072,159,165,168,176,177, and 940, in the gorse at approx ///hugs.legal.yoga. They looked well, as you can see in the photo Sarah is still trying to root out acorns. Stay Safe, Marina & Des

    Tuesday 09th February

All found in the big clearing near sunny hill. No issues

    Monday 8 February 2021

    0900 Mon 8th Feb. None

For a change we walked the woods, that run next to the A325, where the cows have mostly been the last few weeks. Then walked over to the Bourley car park checking the woods and gorse. No sign of them but we did disturb two roe deer. The salt licks are still on the sandy area despite the bashing they took on Friday. We also had a quick look around Sandy Hill but could not see any from there either. Stay Safe, Marina & Des

    Friday 5 February 2021

0900 Fri 5th Feb. All bar one

We found foot prints, near where we have been finding the beasts previously, and followed them to the large sandy area. Saw 194 and 035 making free with the licks and 020 playing hide and seek in the trees. While we were talking to two chaps about the cows 020 walked to the other side of the sandy area so we went too. That's were we found most of the rest of the herd. Approx ///valve.could.names. We are not sure if we saw 033, it can be difficult to account for them all when they don't stay still. On the way back 194 and 035 were still licking like there is no tomorrow. Stay Safe, Marina & Des
