Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Sunday 4th October - All 25 seen

From 09:45 this morning a mixed group of eighteen cattle converged from all directions into the area south of James Bond Pond to enjoy plenty of gorse. They were all very friendly, emerging from the gorse bushes over time to come over and say hello and enjoy plenty of strokes and rubs. As I was saying my goodbyes at 11:35, eight of the cattle had settled down to rest in the heather with the others continuing to graze peacefully.

Shortly before midday, youngster 230 was grazing in the pasture north of Hungry Hill. He was very friendly and enjoyed a long neck and back scratch. Youngster 270 had been grazing by himself further north but had stared to walk back in the direction of youngster 230. he final five cattle - cows 72, 214, 234, and 940, along with youngster 222 had gathered at Horse Pond.

Youngster 222 was walking fine today.

Will do a full update and add some photos later.
