Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Tuesday am

A lovely morning to be out checking cows...

Myself and fellow SPA Warden Jo were at Caesar's Camp this morning for a stroll around. Like Marian we met 16 up on the camp top. All seemed happy, munching away. I think this one should have the tag "7":

We had a bonus spot of these 9 over the fence in Gelvert compartment too:

    1. Hello Sarah
We are not quite sure where you mean when you say 'Gelvert'.I know there are some more cows there and we would be pleased to see them but we cannot find a mention of 'Gelvert' on the map and are not sure where to look.
      Many thanks Hilary

    2. Hi Hilary, Sorry, only just saw your comment. Have a look at Guy's looker map for Gelvert Catchment Area:

      http://www.hiwwt.org.uk/sites/default/files/files/Grazing/120417_GCA_looker_map_aerial_photo.pdf

There is a blog for this compartment too at:

      Hope that helps, Sarah.

    3. Thank you Sarah
The map we have been using doesn't seem to name the area as Gelverts, however the arial photo link you sent me makes it clear. Thank you very much. I looked at the 'lookers blog' for this area that you sent me but it wouldn't let me access it as I don't have permission. Could you arrange it for us or do I need to contact Guy? We are often walking in that area and would be pleased to do that blog too.
      Many thanks
      Hilary
