Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Tuesday 5 February 2019

    Tuesday 5th February.

Only managed to find 13 of the cattle today. There was a group of nine in a clearing in the gorse towards the western end of the site, I put a fresh lick out with them. The other four were down in Long Bottom where I also found half a lick which one of them was having a go at.

The ones that I couldn't find are the youngsters (147, 155, 159, 165, 168, 176 & 177). I'll endeavour to get over there later this week for another look.

    1. Hello,

I saw 7 little ones at 11.30 by the entrance near the Shell Garage. I think they had been a little startled by the MOD shooting practice that was happening nearby, as they were on the move away and then saw them again just after 12 happily grazing.
