Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Fri 31st Dec 8 seen

     We found six, 020, 030, 033, 035, and 072 ///universally.ferried.samplers at 09.19  then 219, and 940 were at ///fortnight.movements.congested few minutes later. We did not find the others but those we saw seen well. It's great Gordon found them all later. Have a Happy New Year and Stay Safe, Marina & Des







    Friday 31st December - All 17 seen

    Sixteen cattle were slowly wandering along the top of Sandy Hill (towards the Shell Garage end) at 11:55 this morning.  They were grazing, drinking water from puddles, picking leaves from trees, and stopping to chew their cud.   They got to about ///purchaser.subtitle.admits and stopped.

    There was no sign of cow 221.  After searching for her for about 25 minutes, she appeared at about ///expel.secondly.shadowed and proceeded to wander casually along Sandy Hill to join the others.

    All seventeen cattle were happy and healthy.

    Thursday 30th December. All seen.

     All 17 were grazing under the trees not far from Bourley Road; pretty scattered but all accounted for and well.

    All found and looking good. They accompanied me while my wife and I changed a punctured tyre which was fun in the rain.

    Wednesday 29th December - All 17 seen

    All seventeen cattle were seen sheltering from the drizzle in the tall trees around ///exit.caves.crew at 11:55 today.  They were mostly stood chewing their cud with a few grazing in amongst the trees.   They were all good.

    Tuesday 28th December - All 17 seen

    Despite the heavy rain this morning, the cows were all relatively dry.  Older cows 30, 35, and 72 plus youngsters 219, 220, 221, 222, and 230 were all grazing in the tall trees around ///students.bleak.wildfires at 12:30.  Cow 222 was doing a spot of hill climbing and 220 was having a good scratch against a tree.

    The other nine were all greedily grazing in the area around ///fooling.glossed.equipping at 12:45.  They were all good.

    The Thames Motorcycle Club was running a classic trial at the Royal Pavilion end of the site today which was good to watch for a bit - very Kick Start-esque (for those of a certain age!).

    All together again

     Later on Monday - rather dark actually…- all the group was together at ///happy.stores.leap.  Damp but seemed fine and the youngsters were very busy grazing.

     Ten were next to Horse Pond heading in the general direction of Sandy Hill. The other 7 were scattered around ///thinker.satin.dorms, some heading towards the main path, others just grazing. All look wet and sorry for themselves but okay. Stay Safe, Marina & Des

    Sunday 26th December - All 17 seen

    Eventually found seventeen very wet cows in the area around ///struts.deserved.likening at 12:10 today.

    Youngsters 217, 219, 221, and 228 were munching on grass.   The others were hiding in the trees, eating leaves or chewing on their cud, but gradually came out onto the path with several saying hello.  Cow 230 was lying down in the trees chewing his cud.  Cow 20 was eating gorse close by at ///wand.approve.cuter.  They were all good.

    Wednesday 22nd December - All 17 seen

    All seventeen cattle were seen in the area around the Horse Pond at 12:40 this afternoon.   They were fairly spread out and were busily grazing on three sides of the pond and in the bushes to the side of it.  They were all good.

    As I was leaving them, cows 213, 219, 235 and 940 had started the climb up Sandy Hill.

    Despite a dense fog covering Caesar's Camp this morning, all seventeen cattle were seen in the area around ///bake.puff.majoring at 11:55.   They were all busy grazing or stood chewing their cud.  They were all good.

    All seventeen cattle were seen in the area around ///cornering.tallest.reward at 13:25 this afternoon.  Fifteen were standing or sitting down relaxing and chewing their cud.  217 and 220 were busy munching in the surrounding bushes.  They were all happy and healthy.
