Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

No cows seen today but we did find a section of fence down. Reported, via text, to the no. given on the recorded message at the office. No reply so we don't know if anybody got it. Photos show damage and our efforts at a repair. The gate has a chain and lock and is between the last visible gate from Sandy Hill road and the Shell garage. Stay Safe, Marina & Des

    1. Hi Marina,

Thanks for reporting the fence breakage, that is appreciated.

Unfortunately we didn't receive the text message. Although this particular incident wasn't a serious emergency, it is ideal to call in rather than leave a text so that the message can be relayed to a staff member asap and we can then respond immediately.

I know this can be tricky at times particularly if you're in a rush or have limited signal, but it is the best way to ensure that we can respond to emergencies as soon as possible.

Thanks for reporting it via the blog as well though as we picked up the issue from here and Ian has been out and fixed the breakage.

      All the best

      Rich.
