Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Sunday 16th January - All 17 seen

Cows 21, 72, 213 and 220 were all stood in the area around ///wishes.existence.fetches at 11:20 this morning.   Cows 30, 219, 222, 228, 230 and 940 were a bit further along the path, grazing in the area around ///troubles.comically.every.

Cows 33, 35, 217, 221, 226 and 235 were close by, chewing their cud or grazing in the area around ///agrees.shots.timer.

Cow 20 was again found lying down by himself at ///fetches.endlessly.infuses at 11:50.  I watched him from afar for 25 minutes, and he didn't do much of anything.  The fact he had been found lying down for the last three days, his lack of movement today coupled with his poor movement yesterday, I called HIWWT and Grace kindly agreed to come and check him.   Shortly before Grace arrived, he did get up, stood for about 10 minutes, and then moved gingerly to join the rest of the herd who were all lying down in the area around ///subway.balconies.most.

Grace checked him out and suspects he may have a long hoof on his rear right leg, which may be impacting his movement.  She asked that we keep an eye on him, and she will visit in the next couple of days to check him further.
