Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Saturday 9th March - All 22 seen

    The fifteen Caesar's originals were spread out in three groups across the Shell Garage end of the site.  Steers 30, 219, 220, 222, 228 and 271 plus cows 72 and 940 were grazing around ///poses.gifted.canal at 09.55.  Steer 217 was found at ///golf.tanks.fights fifteen minutes later.  Steers 21 and 270 were eating in the gorse bushes behind him.  Steers 20 and 33 were found around ///regrowth.coats.vitals at 10:30.  Steers 35 and 230 were eating deep in the gorse bushes nearby.  They both came out after a while and the four started wandering slowly towards the group of eight.  Steer 35's foot was looking a bit better today.

    By 11:05 the group of eight had started to graze in the area around ///shark.atlas.tones.  Youngster 228 was preferring to relax and chew his cud.  The cows were all happy and looking well.

    The Sussex cows were found on Sandy Hill at noon around ///cools.nuance.averts.  They were all happily grazing.  Cows 211 and 1396 were with steers 197, 210 and 1626.  Cow 212 and steer 1640 were on the other side of the gorse bushes, eating the grass beside the main path.  All seven slowly headed west along the hill.  They were all happy, relaxed and looking well.

    The cows were all good today.
