The fifteen original Caesar's cows were spread out around ///upward.quiz.solder at 08:50 this morning. They were all happily grazing, with lots of gorse and heather being eaten. Several cows were eating in the gorse bushes on both sides of the path to the northwest. The cows had slowly made their way along from the wooded area at the east side of James Bond pond, where they had spent the night. Yearling 271 had been left behind and was deep in the gorse bushes at the side of the pond. He came out twenty minutes later and followed me back to the other cows. All fifteen cows were happy and relaxed.
Steer 35's foot wasn't looking the best again today, but it does appear to be healing. The patch on his underside was also looking less irritated than it had been. Buzz was absolutely fine though and was happily eating heather.
While looking for the Sussex cows, I bumped into steers 21 and 219 on Sandy Hill at 10:30 around ///slides.clef.cages. Steers 30, 228 and 270 plus cow 940 were close by. I also found the others again at noon in the area around ///cabin.onto.outs. Cow 72 and steers 217 and 222 were lying down relaxing and chewing their cud. Steers 33 and 35 were standing beside them. Steers 20, 220, 230 and 271 were all still munching on gorse in the surrounding area.
I was seconds away from admitting defeat, when I eventually found the seven Sussex cows grazing in the area around ///life.flash.ashes at the Royal Pavilion end of the site at 12:45. They were grazing amongst the thicket. They were all happy, relaxed and looking well. Several wandered over to say hello. They slowly made their way down to the area near the cattle grid along from the cow shed at 13:15.
The cows were all good today.
