Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Monday 17th August - All 25 seen

     Between 06:45 - 09:15

    All seen in three locations this morning 

    ///incoming.chum.recent (slope leading down to Gelvert fence)  the Sussex’s 219 and 035 they were gradually making their way up the slope towards James Bond pond. 211 and 219 were very friendly this morning enjoying long back rubs and covering my arm in cow dribble!

    ///driving.etchings.cattle (north west of horse pond) 940,033,021,020 and 072 they were all grazing on what they could find, mainly heather.

    ///grin.weeks.state (near main path north of horse pond) 214,217,234,228,222,271,230,270,030,220 and 227. This group were more scattered but not far from the main path spread over about 100 metres. 

    All the cattle were good this morning.
