Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Wednesday 2nd February - All 17 seen

Cows 20, 21, 30, 213, 220, 221, 226, 228, 230 and 235 were all busy grazing in the area around ///quick.convey.reeling at 11:35 this morning. The other seven were a little bit further along the path at ///pinging.assist.note.  Cow 217 was grazing in the bushes and the other six were all lying down relaxing. They were all good.

There was a large fire on Caesar's Camp last night.   Sadly it has left a huge area of the heath under the Lookout badly burnt.

    1. Very glad that the cattle are okay and so hope the ground recovers quickly and that this doesn’t lead to a spate of fires. I saw a small group with a Bon fire near the Gelvert fishing lake last week, but it looked modest and to be under control, but I wonder if the fires are linked?
