Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Wednesday 9th February - All 17 seen

Older cattle 21 and 35 plus the ten yearlings were all seen in the area around ///require.quote.kickbacks near the Lookout at 11:35.  Bizarrely, all but cow 35 were munching on "barbecued" gorse from the recently burnt bushes.  Some were getting into very precarious positions to get the best leaves.  Cow 213 and 235's normally lovely white heads and pink noses were a dirty shade of grey!  Cow 35 preferred to munch on non-cooked gorse.  Eight of the yearlings descended the slope and wandered off towards Bourley Road grazing as they went.  Cows 21, 35, 213 and 235 stayed where they were.  They were all lying down, chewing their cud at 13:10.

The other five older cows were seen in the area around ///rocker.anguished.bandstand at 12:30.  Cows 72 and 940 were lying down chewing their cud.  The other three were standing chewing their cud or grazing.

The eight yearlings were all happily munching on grass at ///excavated.spotted.frosted at 13:30.

    All the cattle were good.
