Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Monday- found the 5 missing yearlings, which included Hades all by himself in the stone hut on Sandy Hill. All others accounted for too (thanks Marina and Des for the heads up)

    Monday 30th May. 21 seen

    The first seen was 021 by the side of the reservoir then 6 more, 020, 213, 219, 220, 222, and 940 by the path down from Caesers. The other 14, 035, 072, 217, 221, 226, 228, 230, 235, 238, 244, 247, 248, 257 and either 030 or 035 who was around the other side of the water, were in the muddiest bog on Caesers. Below the dome adjacent to Gelvert, some were paddling, eating the rushes, adding to the mud, while others were lying down chilling and chewing the cud. They were joined by the first group by the time we left. Not seen were, 241, 242, 245, 252, 255 and either 030 or 033 depending on who the a.n.other was in the bog. Stay Safe, Marina & Des







    Friday 27th

    dodnt see them all in one day last week. but managed to get all their numbers tallied by the third visit. All seemed fine!

    Sunday 29th May - All 27 seen

    Yearlings 238, 241, 242, 252, 255 and 257 were all found lying down under the shade of some trees at ///secret.charm.juror at 10:00 this morning.   They were all resting and chewing their cud.

    The seven older cows plus yearlings 247 and 248 were seen at ///rash.factoring.froth about 45 minutes later.  Cows 21, 35, 72, 248 and 940 were lying down.   The others were getting ready to join them.

    The original ten Caesar's youngsters plus yearlings 244 and 245 were all lying down in the area around ///extend.stuns.worldwide.  They were all relaxing, with most chewing their cud.   A couple were having a little snooze.

    All the cows were good today.

    Saturday 28th May - 18 seen

    A mixed group of twelve were found on Sandy Hill around ///plodded.washable.sized at 11:10 this morning.  Older cows 72 and 940 plus youngsters 217, 219, 220, 222, 226 and 228 plus yearling 248 were all lying down relaxing, snoozing or chewing their cud.  Yearlings 244, 245 and 247 were all grazing close by.  There was a large number of flies around today. 

    Yearlings 238, 241, 242, 252, 255 and 257 were all found lying down hiding in the heather around ///inflict.shun.dramatic about 45 minutes later.  There were all relaxing and chewing their cud.

    Despite an extensive search, I could not find the other nine.

    All the cows were good today.

    Friday 27th May Only 20 seen

     By approx.10.40 they were at the triangle at the end of Sandy Hill ///suddenly.conducted.jolly. They looked well having grazed their way from the other end, where 030 used an oak branch to have a good scratch. There are not as many flies about. Unseen are 033, 226, 241, 242, 247, 252, and 255.     Thursday 26th May. Can’t go out again.

     Still not up to roaming around Caesar’s tomorrow I’m afraid.

    Wednesday 25th March - All 27 seen

    The seven older cows plus yearlings 242 and 245 were seen grazing at ///rainy.pulses.ditching on Sandy Hill at 14:40 this afternoon.  They were wandering towards the Shell Garage end of the hill, munching as they went.

    Six of the yearlings were seen at ///glimmers.cuddled.richer.  Youngsters 238, 241 and 244 were lying down relaxing and chewing their cud.  Cows 252, 255 and 257 were grazing alongside.

    The original ten Caesar's youngsters plus yearlings 247 and 248 were all greedily grazing in the area around ///spent.daunting.noun a while later.  They all had very muddy feet!  By 16:00 they had all climbed up the hill and were lying down at ///mysteries.slip.width resting while chewing their cud.

    All the cows were good today.

    Monday 23rd May 15 not seen

     Six yearlings, 238, 241, 244, 252, 255, and 257 were on lookout ///halt.boots.withdraws. Another 6, 020, 021, 030, 035, 242, and 940 were grazing their way towards Horse pond ///croaking.notes.brimmed. They all looked well. Stay Safe, Marina & Des

    Saturday 21st May - All 27 seen

    The seventeen original cows were all seen around ///below.admits.bonds at 11:15 this morning.  Older cows 20, 30, 33, 72 and 940 plus youngsters 221, 226 and 235 were all lying down relaxing.  The others were all grazing close by, enjoying the sunshine.

    Yearlings 238, 241, 244, 252, 255 and 257 were all seen grazing in the area around ///casual.competing.seat an hour later.  A couple took a break from munching to have a good scratch against the branches of some bushes.

    By 13:10 the original seventeen had moved and were all busy grazing in the area around ///watching.water.neckline.  The other four yearlings 242, 245, 247 and 248 had joined them.

    All the cows were good today.

    Friday 20th May All seen

     We got out of the car to have a closer look at the '17' who were on the triangle at the end of Sandy Hill ///suddenly.conducted.jolly. They were grazing and chewing the cud and seem well and relaxed. 

    A gentleman told us he had seen some of the babies at the Shell garage side, and having scoured that area we found 5, 238, 242, 244, 248, and 244 along the rumble strip ///cowering.denim.wooden.  We then saw the others by the reservoir next to the Odiham Road ///toothpick.diet.streaming.
