Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Sunday 2nd July - All 15 seen

The same group of five from yesterday were in amongst the birch trees at the side of Horse Pond at 10:05 this morning.  Youngster 228 was lying down having a nap.  Older steer 30 was lying down, relaxing and chewing his cud.  The other three, cows 20, 72 and 940, were standing, chewing their cud.

Youngster 219 was found grazing by himself around ///visa.eager.something at 10:20.  He was eating grass amongst the bracken.

Youngsters 217, 220, 222 and 230 plus the two yearlings 270 and 271 were munching on fresh grass in the area around ///moss.built.recap about ten minutes later.  After a short while, they all wandered diagonally through the dense bracken in the direction of youngster 219.

The three older steers, 21, 33 and 35, were grazing a bit higher up the hillside around ///prude.snug.mining at 10:40.

I wandered back down and found the five youngsters and two yearlings all happily grazing together in the sunshine in the area around ///disprove.fields.trick just along from where youngster 219 was found earlier.

The cows were all good today.
