Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Saturday 18th January - All 25 seen

A mixed group of thirteen cattle were grazing among the gorse and heather near ///wiggling.loss.trips at 09:00 this morning. They were happy, relaxed, and enjoying their breakfast. They were all friendly and came over to greet me before gradually moving northwest to graze in the gorse bushes along the main path. The seven Sussexes, steers 33, 219, 220, and 271, as well as cows 214 and 940, were all looking well.

At 09:40, youngsters 217, 222, 228, and 230, along with yearling 270, were happily grazing near ///resolves.lines.curtail. Youngster 230 especially enjoyed a long back and shoulder rub, looking completely relaxed. After saying their hellos, the boys got back to grazing, all appearing happy and healthy.

At 10:00, steers 20, 21, 30, 35, and 227, along with cows 72 and 234, were grazing in the thicket and gorse bushes near ///rural.ruled.destiny at the western end of Longbottom. Steers 20, 30, and 35, along with cow 72, were happily munching on leaves. The other three took a bit longer to emerge from the gorse, but when they did, they were all in good condition.

The five steers from the second group wandered down from the north to join the group at 10:35. After exchanging a few moos and other greetings, steers 227, 228, and 230, along with cow 234, headed over to Sandy Hill, where they enjoyed refreshing drinks from the puddles.

The cows were all good today.
