Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

Wednesday 22nd February - All 17 seen - problematic Sandy Hill gate now has chain + padlock on it

Cows 35, 219, 220, 221, 222, 226 and 235 were spread out grazing along the side of the path between Caesar's and Gelvert in the area around ///alley.lizard.class at 10:30 this morning.  They were all very wet and were munching on gorse and leaves from the bushes.  Cows 20 and 33 were deep in the gorse bushes eating.

The group of nine slowly made their way towards ///hiked.tiger.workers where cows 72, 213, 230 and 940 were already grazing.  Youngster 228 soon joined as well, coming from the same direction as the nine.

The group of fourteen slowly made their way towards ///milky.cloak.engineers where cows 21 and 217 were grazing.   Cow 30 made an appearance at 11:25 coming from the same direction the others had come from.  He must have hiding in a gorse bush, as I couldn't find him when I searched the Shell garage end of the site.

The cows were all very relaxed and continued to graze happily.  They had made it to ///fights.elders.firmly shortly before noon.

For awareness, the problematic kissing gate on Sandy Hill now has a metal chain and padlock on it.  I'm assuming the Reserves Team are aware.  Have photo if required.

The cows were all good today.
