The seven Sussex cattle were found near ///lorry.pickles.crank, southeast of James Bond Pond, at 12:25 this afternoon. They were happily grazing in the sunshine, enjoying plenty of heather and gorse, but all took a break to come over to say hello. Cows 211 and 1396 particularly enjoyed back rubs as they rested and chewed their cud in the glorious sunshine. Cow 211 was especially affectionate, rewarding me with head rubs and licks. All seven were happy, relaxed, and looking really well. As I left, they wandered into the gorse bushes to the south to continue grazing.
At 12:55, the eighteen members of the original Caesar's herd were spread out grazing near ///ideals.detonated.ratty, at the Shell garage end of the site. Unfortunately, the weather had turned, with clouds rolling in and a chilly wind picking up. Within ten minutes, several of the cattle began resting and chewing their cud, with a few lying down. The others continued grazing, enjoying lots of heather. Many came over to greet me and enjoyed some strokes and rubs while they relaxed. They all appeared happy, healthy, and in excellent condition. I said my goodbyes around 13:40.
When I was leaving, I noticed several fallen trees in the wooded area near ///sonic.because.imitate, including one that had fallen across the main track.
The cows were all good today.
