Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Tuesday 17th December - All 25 seen

The eighteen members of the Caesar's original herd were found near ///youth.elbow.cult at 14:30 this afternoon. Cows 72, 214, and 940, along with steers 30, 33, 219, 220, and 271 were spread out in small groups, lying down and relaxing. Several had made beds in the bracken, with youngster 219 looking particularly comfortable. It seemed that some had only recently got up but were now happily grazing on heather and gorse. They were all very friendly, pausing to say hello. All eighteen appeared happy, relaxed, and in excellent condition.

Later, at 15:25, the seven Sussex cattle were found together near ///jumps.twee.district at the Shell garage end of the site. They were all enjoying plenty of heather. Several approached to greet me and enjoyed neck and back rubs, with cow 211 being her usual affectionate self, rewarding me with head rubs and licks. All seven looked healthy and well.

The cows were all good today.
