Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Tuesday 3rd December - All 25 seen

The eighteen members of the original Caesar's herd were spread out in the area near ///ocean.dads.feuds at 14:10 this afternoon. Steers 30, 219, and 271 were lying down, relaxing, while yearling 270 had recently got up and was happily chewing his cud. Cow 214 had settled in a cosy spot under the cover of trees and bushes and was looking very snug. Several others grazed nearby, enjoying the heather and gorse. A few were grazing at the top of the ridge, but soon made their way to the pastures on either side of the path near ///palettes.count.sized. Gradually, all eighteen gathered to graze. They were all happy, relaxed and looking well.

Youngster 228 was happily grazing but paused to come over and say hello before eagerly returning to munching leaves and heather. It's wonderful to have him back at Caesar's, looking in excellent condition. I spent more time with him just after 15:15 as I left site, finding him resting and chewing his cud alongside steers 21, 219, 220, 222, and 227.

By 14:50, the seven Sussex cattle were grazing together near ///pixel.heckler.suits at the Shell garage end of the site. The girls were enjoying plenty of heather, while the boys preferred gorse. They were all very friendly, coming over to greet me. Several allowed me to brush gorse off their backs. Cow 211, as usual, was especially affectionate and enjoyed a long back scratch. All seven looked happy, relaxed, and healthy.

The cows were all good today.
