Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Thursday 10th July - All 25 seen

    Morning 9:30 until lunchtime 12:30

2 groups this morning, first one found at jaundice.skinning.bulbs heading east towards The Royal Pavilion perimeter.

10 in this group headed by 2 older steers moving through fields with ease taking shade under trees and chewing the cud.

Playful behaviour observed and cleaning each other

2 young steers looked to be in the middle, one deciding to head east, the other headed west to the pond.

This young steer pictured below, headed east, called out to find the group looking unsure. Tracker didn't seem to show him passing me but updated when he did reach the group headed to The Royal Pavilion perimeter

The second group was found by the pond, headed by an older steer chewing cud alone on the bank overlooking the group

Found the other young steer had reached the pond and called out to find them in the trees taking shade.

This group of 14 took shade in the trees, the temp reached 30 degrees C. Half drank from the pond and all seen chewing cud standing in the shade with tales swishing occasionally.
