Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

Tuesday 15th July - Staff Check

Split into lots of different groups today!

    Group 1 - 7 Sussex's at ///brands.blindfold.encounter
Dozing and chewing the cud. No problems

A British White and Shetland joined them about ten minutes later from the east. The Shetland (35, Buzz) was making a bit of a racket!

    Taking the count to 9.

Group 2 -  a gang of 9, mix of BW and Shetlands.
All grazing happily on the heath
No 234 Gangsta has a little bit of hair loss around the right side of the face due to the collar but nothing too bad.
Brie is looking a little better since I saw her a few weeks ago I think!
Whilst I was checking on this group, a dog came from the footpath and started worrying, 217 Gimli, barking aggressively. I shouted at the dog twice who backed off each time and the owners called him from some way away on the path. Gimli returned to grazing, did not seem affected by this.

Group 3 - the final 7 were sheltering in the old barn structure like a group of disenfranchised youths, with a couple lying down chewing the cud on the other side of the wooden foot bridge.
222 came over for some head scratches and followed me around whilst I checked on the others
