Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

Thursday 11th September - All 25 seen - 035 SH Buzz has a fresh small cut not bleeding

It’s 11:36 on Sandy Hill estate ///stream.socket.opposites and I’ve found SUS 211 no collar grazing fresh grass on her own. The gates and fences look secure so she’s not in any danger, I’ll check on her on the way back if she’s still up here.

11:57 ///eruptions.extensive.digs at the west end of Sandy Hill estate,  group of 14 including 6 SUS, 5 SH, 2 BW and 1 White with collar. All peaceful and most sitting and dozing all showing on nofence

12:23 ///starter.cashew.listening a short distance away to the west approaching is Brie in a group of 7, the 1 collarless White, collarless BW Sarah, 1 BW, 3 SH. 5 tracked on nofence all peaceful resting in the Heather

12:50 Went back to first group and found SH 035 Buzz has a fresh small 1 inch cut no blood but fur ripped off, on his right side and just under on the belly looks like a small blood stain no cut seen, he’s sitting now and not showing distress so think he’s ok. He was in the thicket earlier so may have been scratched in there. Tracker is slow on a BW and SH they’ve approached from JBPond and joined the others at ///eruptions.extensive.digs ,this group is now 16 in total.

24 so far the collarless White is missing ...

13:09 ///eruptions.extensive.digs Oh Wait there I’ve found her ! she’s just come out of thickets from directions of JBPond she looks well and has sat down with the others.

13:18 ///worthy.mouths.tidying the collarless SUS has grazed all along the Sandy Hill estate and will most likely meet up with the big group resting just around the corner ///eruptions.extensive.digs
