Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

Friday 10th March - All 17 seen - slight scratch on 940's left leg

Cows 20, 21, 30, 33, 72, 213, 235 and 940 were all busy grazing in the area around ///paused.skills.ally at 11:25 this morning.  They were all munching on gorse.  There was an army training exercise going on in the woods to the south of them, with lots of gunfire and smoke, but the cows weren't bothered in the slightest.  Cow 235's ear was completely fine today.  Older cow 940 had a slight scratch on her lower left leg, but it wasn't causing her any issues.

Youngsters 219, 220, 226 and 230 were all lying down resting in the area around ///level.reply.guitar at 13:10.  Cows 35, 217, 221, 222 and 228 were all busy munching in the gorse bushes close by around ///losses.loops.hails.  There was no mark on cow 228's leg today - he was fine and wandering around quite happily.  Same with cow 222, who was deep in the bushes but wandered over to say hello.   After a short while, older cow 35 and youngster 217 lay down beside the other four.

The original eight were seen grazing in the gorse bushes around ///about.ends.fall at 13:35.

The cows were all good today.
