Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Friday 25th August - All 19 seen

The ten cows who were moved from Gelvert to Caesar's yesterday evening were all still together and were lying down, relaxing and chewing their cud in the area around ///broached.perform.jogged at 16.05 this afternoon.  Cows 33 and 35 were lying on one side of the path, while the other eight, cows 20, 21, 30, 72, 220, 222, 227 and 940, were spread out on the other side.  Steers 21 and 220 had found a nice spot slightly away from the others and were amongst some thicket.

The other nine, cows 214, 215, 217, 219, 228, 230, 234, 270 and 271, were all lying down on their favourite Sandy Hill corner at 16.30.  Steers 217, 230 and 270 were having a little snooze.   The others were all resting and chewing their cud.  Yearling 271 got up, had a big stretch, and then lay back down on his side where he too rested his eyes for a while.

The cows were all good today, but both groups were being bothered by a large number of flies.
