Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Tuesday 29th August - All 19 seen

    Cows 20, 30, 214, 215, 217, 220, 228, 234 and 270 were all grazing on the grass at the side of the main path on Longbottom around ///tour.belt.signed at 16:55 this afternoon.  They were all looking well.  The red mark on the side of cow 234's neck was gone.

    Older cow 33 was found around ///city.straddled.twigs a short time later.  He was wandering in the direction of the first nine cows.

    Older cow 940 was lying down relaxing around ///recur.frosted.unique at 17.10.   Cow 72 was munching on grass beside her.  Steer 227 was grazing amongst some bramble bushes close by.   Older steers 21 and 35 were grazing together a bit further down the hill.

    Wandering back along Longbottom, older steers 20 and 30 were standing together on the side of the path close to where they were found previously.  They had been joined by steer 33.

    The missing four, youngsters 219, 222 and 230 plus yearling 271, were all grazing on Sandy Hill near the pillbox at 17.30.   They were with cows 214, 215, 217, 220, 228, 234 and 270 who had climbed up the hill.  They were all happily grazing, despite the light rain, heading towards their favourite corner.

    The cows were all good today.
