Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Sunday 22 January 2023

Sunday 22nd January - 9 seen, others heard

Cow 30 was found eating in the gorse bushes around ///disgraced.noodle.tonight at the side of the path between Caesar's and Gelvert at 14:55 this afternoon.  Cows 20, 33, 213, 219, 221, 226, 235 and 940 could all be seen further up the path towards the entrance to Gelvert.  They were all picking at gorse as they were wandering.   As I was walking towards them, I could hear other cows deep in the gorse bushes, but I couldn't see them.

Cows 213, 219, 226, 235 and 940 continued walking all the way along to Beacon Hill Road.  They found a big patch of grass around ///bonus.values.archduke where they happily grazed for about fifteen minutes before wandering back.

There were at least four cows buried very deep in the gorse bushes around ///hockey.unguarded.dated.  They could be heard picking at the gorse and I could see their silhouettes deep in the bushes, but wasn't able to positively identify them.

Horse Pond and James Bond Pond were still completely frozen today. I did break the ice on puddles as I wandered around site, including down at the Shell Garage end of site.

The cows that were seen were all good today.
