Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

Saturday 21st January - All 17 seen - minor issue with kissing gate on Sandy Hill

Youngsters 213, 217, 226 and 228 were lying down huddled together, resting and chewing their cud in the sunshine in the area around ///central.grabs.neatly at 12:10 this afternoon.  Youngster 222 was lying just in front of them.  Cow 21 was munching on gorse in the bushes directly behind them.

Cows 30 and 940 were eating gorse in the bushes around ///earpiece.strides.erase.  The others, minus youngster 220, were spread out in the area between the two groups.  They were standing chewing their cud, grazing or lying down relaxing.

Youngster 220 had found an enclave less than fifty metres from the first four cows.  He was completely hidden, surrounded by gorse bushes.  He was lying down with the sun in his face, happily chewing his cud without a care in the world.  It took me ages to find him!

There was plenty of water in the area where the cows were located.  Horse Pond and James Bond Pond were frozen solid today.  I did break the ice on puddles as I wandered around site.

I noticed one of the kissing gates on Sandy Hill at ///messed.purifier.mouse was lying wide open.  It had been pushed beyond its rear arm.  I mentioned it to the Landmarc gentleman who was on-site, and he was able to get the gate back between its arms, so it was working correctly.  Unfortunately, the gate is sitting a little high and will not latch.

The cows were all good today.
