Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Tuesday 4th February - All 25 seen

A group of thirteen cattle were gathered near ///struck.quits.mixers at 13:50 today. Eight were lying down together, relaxing and chewing their cud. Steers 21 and 35 were initially standing but soon settled down on the other side of the track, where steer 33 lay on his side for a while before sitting up. Cow 214, who had been resting, got up to have a stretch before coming over to say hello and enjoy a back rub. I was pleased to see that the scratch on her neck had completely healed.

Youngsters 220 and 222 were resting a little to the northeast in their own little section, with youngster 220 making a cosy bed out of the bracken. All thirteen cattle were happy, relaxed, and looking well.

Steers 30, 230 and 270, along with cow 940, were grazing near ///belief.expires.wizard at 14:10. Yearling 270 was especially friendly today, coming over to give me a few curious sniffs before accepting some strokes. Youngster 230 was his usual friendly self and emerged from the thicket to greet me. All four were happy and healthy.

At 14:30, youngster 219 and the seven Sussexes were found further down the path towards the Bourley Road near ///masts.probe.trim at 14:30. Steers 197 and 219, along with cow 211, were resting and chewing their cud, while the other five Sussexes were busy munching on gorse in the bushes to the north. All eight were happy and relaxed.

As I walked back up the path after saying my goodbyes, the second group of four were slowly making their way down to join the group of eight.

The cows were all good today.
