Steers 33, 217, and 220 were grazing in the gorse bushes near ///spine.blip.shades at 15:10 this afternoon. They soon emerged to say hello and be checked. Nearby, cows 72 and 940, along with steers 222, 270 and 271, were grazing near ///solves.bins.limit, happily enjoying plenty of heather. By 15:40, the first three had wandered over to join them. All eight were relaxed, content, and looking well.
At 15:50, steers 20, 21, 210, and 219, along with cows 211 and 212, were grazing in the heather near ///gala.crew.hexes, while steer 30 was munching in the gorse bushes to the northeast. Steer 35 had wandered down to the lower ground near ///ethic.royally.pelted, where he was enjoying some alone time grazing on heather. All eight were happy and healthy.
The remaining nine cattle were spread out grazing in the area around the Lookout at 16:05. Youngster 227 had positioned himself rather precariously on the edge of the slope while eating heather. I was relieved when he spotted me and came over for a greeting and back rub. The rest of the group were just as friendly, taking a break from their dinner to say hello. They all looked well.
By 16:40, most of the cattle from the second group had joined the third. They continued grazing together, with a few taking the opportunity to rest. The cattle looked stunning in the setting sun. Shortly before 16:55, steers 20, 21 and 30 arrived, and the entire group began to make their way down the hill toward Bourley Road, stopping to enjoy some heather along the way. Meanwhile, steer 35 had started heading east and was on track to meet up with them.
The cows were all good today.
