At 09:40 this morning, steers 21, 217, 228, 230, and 271 were sheltering under the trees near ///oils.harp.dime, at the Royal Pavilion end of the site. They were slightly damp from the earlier rain but looked happy, relaxed, and in good condition. After about ten minutes, steers 21, 217, and 228 all wandered out to the patch of the grass to the west and lay down.
At 10:05, steers 20, 35, and 219, along with cow 214, were lying down, relaxing and chewing their cud near ///gazes.splints.teeth. Nearby, cow 214 and steer 222 were happily grazing. Steer 219 enjoyed a long neck and head rub while resting. When we were done, youngster 222 came straight over for a hello and some strokes as well. All six were happy, relaxed, and healthy.
Sussex cows 212 and 1396, along with steers 1626 and 1640, were resting under the trees at the side of the water treatment compound at 10:40. The girls looked especially comfortable nestled in the bracken. All four were happy and relaxed.
The remaining seven members of the Caesar's original herd were spread out grazing in the pasture near ///crass.array.even at 11:05. They were enjoying plenty of fresh grass and leaves from the trees and bushes. By 11:20, they'd gradually moved southeast, gathering beside the fenced-off area to relax and chew their cud. A large army orienteering exercise was taking place in the surrounding area, with soldiers frequently passing through, so the herd wisely moved out of the way. They were all very friendly, with several coming over for strokes and standing peacefully beside me.
Meanwhile, the final three Sussex cattle were grazing further north, towards Bourley Road near ///loads.frosted.cabs. After saying hello, steers 197 and 210 wandered off through the bracken to graze eastward, while cow 211 stayed close, enjoying a long back and neck rub. After a while, she returned to grazing, slowly making her way in the direction of the boys. All three were content and looked well.
I also noted that the burnt-out car has still not been removed from the site.
The cows were all good today.
