Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

Thursday 15th May - Staff Check

First group of 8 (couple of shetlands but mostly sussex) seen at the south of the site by Sandy Hill Road lying down chewing the cud. Made 210 to stand up as he was looking a bit lethargic but got up no problems and began grazing.

Second group of 4 cattle, to the North of them by a pond. All amongst gorse and scrub, grazing contentedly.

Third group of 4 Shetlands in eastern corner
///others.reason.shift grazing amongst copious bramble/wood pasture.

Fourth group of 8 at  ///shuttered.each.unfounded
British Whites and Shetlands all lying down chewing the cud.

At this point, I realise the third collar-less cow  is unaccounted for. Circled back down to the south and caught up again with two groups down here to try and see the third cow. Saw two collar less sussex's but don't know if it's the same as earlier. So not 100 percent sure I've seen all of them...!
