Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Friday 20th June - All 25 seen

I was passing by Caesar’s Camp this afternoon and decided to stop for an extra check on the cattle in the hot weather.

Just before 16:00, the eighteen members of the original Caesar’s herd, along with Sussex cow 1396 and steer 1626, were resting in the shade of the trees to the east of James Bond Pond. Most were lying down, either dozing or contentedly chewing their cud. At one point, older steer 21 lay fully stretched out on his side, closing his eyes for a while. All twenty were in good condition and were coping well with the heat.

By 16:40, the five remaining Sussex cattle were happily grazing among the bracken northeast of Horse Pond near ///tame.playroom.duke, where a light breeze helped take the edge off the heat. When I first arrived on-site, they’d been resting in the trees west of Horse Pond, but had since moved out to graze. They were all happy, relaxed, and looking well.

I said my goodbyes at 17:00, leaving them peacefully eating.

The cows were all good today.
