Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

Thursday 25th June - All 25 seen - Cow 234 has lost her collar

For awareness, cow 234 has lost her tracking collar.

As it was a pleasant evening, I gave the cattle an extra check. At 17:45, steers 20, 33, 35, 217, 227 and 228, along with cow 234, were contentedly grazing in the pasture near ///audit.flask.asset. Meanwhile, older steer 21 and cow 72 were lying down and relaxing in the bracken on the opposite side of the path.

The remaining nine members of the Caesar's original herd, along with Sussex steer 1626, were happily grazing in the pasture near ///bins.thud.fussy at 18:25. They were gradually making their way southwest towards Horse Pond.

A short time later, both groups gathered at Horse Pond. Several of the cattle waded into the water to cool off, while others stayed on the north and south banks, relaxing and chewing their cud. Youngsters 219 and 222 ventured deep into the pond to nibble on the water lilies.

By around 19:00, the final group of six Sussex cattle emerged from the trees to the west of Horse Pond. After stopping for a drink, they joined the others resting along the northern bank.

The cows were all good today.
