At 09:15 this morning, the seven Sussex cattle were spread out grazing on the slope of Sandy Hill, near ///chess.wiggling.rigid. They were enjoying the long grass growing among the bracken. All were very friendly, coming over to say hello as I moved among them to check they were okay. All seven were happy, relaxed, and in good condition.
At 10:00, fourteen members of the Caesar's original herd were grazing contentedly as they climbed the hill, near ///fury.failed.upper. With a few flies about, they were making good use of the dense bracken, with some almost disappearing from sight. Most of the group came over to greet me, with several enjoying a few strokes before continuing on. They gradually made their way east, crossing the swampy ground with ease, with many pausing for a drink at the spring. All fourteen were calm, content, and looking well.
By 10:45, youngsters 227 and 230 were grazing further east among the thick bracken near ///trickles.yummy.relate. Both stopped their grazing to come over and greet me. The final two — older steers 21 and 35 — were grazing about 100 metres to the southeast, near ///sling.aimed.school. They were happy, relaxed and in good health. I said my goodbyes at 11:10, leaving them all peacefully grazing.
I noted that the second burnt-out car is still on-site, and work has yet to begin on the permanent repairs to the damaged fencing.
The cows were all good today.
