Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

I Saw Approximately Ten in K18 at 09.30. All Lying Down & Appeared Well

Hi, It's Tony, (A Hawley Common Looker).  I was out on a bike ride with my brother this morning from Hawley, (where I didn't manage to spot any of the cattle) to Caesars Camp and back.

As we approached the viewing point and benches on top of Caesars's Camp, my brother and I came upon ten or so cattle sat chewing the cud in the open about 150 yards west of the copse near the benches.

Apologies, as I was photographing them, two mountain bike mates rode past, (who I haven't seen for years) and as we ended or conversation about half of the cattle started to move off to the south.  So, I said goodbye to my mates and quickly completed photographing each cattle.  In the rush, I forgot to count how many I had actually seen.  However, I do know that I managed to get at least one photograph of each one there.
