Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

Monday 10th November - All 25 seen - open swing gate!

     Between 07:00  - 09:10

All have been seen in 3 groups this morning…

The first group of 7 were at ///hits.memo.walked and the second group of 14 were at ///inner.factor.banquets. Both these locations are along the path adjacent to Sandy Hill Road. All 21 were happily grazing on the quite long grass. 222 was a bit grumpy this morning until I started to brush the water from his back, he then cheered up wanting his head, face and back rubbed. Brie also came over for a back rub. The group of 14 included the 7 Sussex’s and 211 was her normal friendly self.

I noticed that the swing gate at ///satin.herb.notch had been forced open. I know the cows shouldn’t be able to reach it through the NoFence barrier but I have managed to lift it back into its correct position. Something we are going to have to vigilant about checking the gates that open towards the housing estate.

The final 4 were at ///soft.plus.claps which is just east of horse pond. 227 was happy to receive plenty of head and back rubs.

All the cattle were happy, relaxed and in great condition this morning.
