Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

Thursday 6th November - All 25 seen Nofence on Sandy Hill estate zapping cows

Nofence cuts off the path on the Sandy Hill estate a group of 15 including Brie are distressed and looking for a way to go forward as they don't want to come back east along the path with me. Please can someone have a look at the nofence?

10:45 Brie is grazing on the verges of the Sandy Hill estate Group of 15. she has some SUS, SH and Gangsta with her, Gangsta looks and bit still and watching me cautiously, I wonder what happen. A local fire inspector has driven by the cows slowly moved out the way to let them drive past.

11:11 up on Sandy Hill estate the nofence cuts off the path going west and some may have been zapped

I saw 2 running back and ducking behind the bushes here ///cracks.bravo.clashing

11:27 I’m with the other group of 10  ///transcribes.payback.lots goes down through longbottom they have grazed up and back on the path to JBPond. They all look well and very busy grazing lush green grass there are 5 SUS in this group, some have found acorns but thankfully not many left on the ground. They look so happy it’s a lovely warm autumn day the grazing looks lush.

Looks like one went back to JBPond on the nofence I’m just going to look now 11:55 oh wait the nofence updated there isn’t one on the map now. 12:50 the cows are heading east onto the heathland the SUS are calling each other as they move along ///scanty.fenced.pampering the group have started to sit down on the heath. They are sat now and chewing their cud so I've left them as they are peaceful now.

12:37 Bries group are still up on the Sandy hill estate but are turning back as they are not able to get through the nofence which cuts off the path. They are grazing the verge and heading back east they could’ve been zapped by nofence they look confused ///locals.intersect.amends

They are distressed they’ve seen me and are coming over ///messed.purifier.mouse They all walked back with me for help.

12:52 they found a grass verge to graze hopefully this group of 15 will be able to get back this way now

12:58 they’ve stopped following me, as they are grazing now, I’ll wait for them. They don’t want to come this way they have turned back 13:10. They are going back west along the path but I have to leave them here 13:24. I'm not able to stay with them they are very upset and trying to figure out how to get down safely.
