Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Sunday 9th November - All 25 seen

At 09:30 this morning, a group of eight cattle were found near ///town.troll.sweat, in the pasture northeast of Horse Pond. Steers 20, 30, 270, and 1640, along with cow 940, were spread out, resting and chewing their cud in the sunshine. The grass was still silvered with morning dew. Nearby, steers 35, 222, and 271 grazed contentedly. All were friendly as I made my way around checking on them. Yearling 270 and cow 940 got up and wandered over for back scratches, while youngster 222 and yearling 271 were more than happy to stand and be fussed over. I said my goodbyes shortly before 11:00, leaving them all resting peacefully. All eight were happy, relaxed, and looking well. At 11:05, the remaining seventeen cattle were gathered near ///scout.cube.noon, in the grassy area surrounding the thicket at the Royal Pavilion end of the site. Most were lying down, relaxing and chewing their cud, while a few grazed in the bushes behind. After a while, they all settled down to rest. Several came over for back and shoulder rubs before lying down beside me. Youngster 230 was lying down alone under the trees to the east, but was perfectly content, happily accepting strokes and rubs while resting. Youngster 227 enjoyed a long back scratch before stretching right out for a belly rub. All seventeen were happy, relaxed, and in good condition. I said my goodbyes just after 12:35, leaving them all resting peacefully. The cows were all good today.
