Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Saturday 10th December - All 17 seen

Older cows 20, 21 and 30 were all grazing in the area around ///paths.screaming.mats at 11:00 this morning.  Youngsters 213, 220, 228 and 230 were grazing close by at ///loaning.mows.trading.   Cow 35 was standing chewing his cud just along from them.

Cows 33 and 72 were found grazing a bit further down at ///gosh.hindered.patio a short while later.  Cow 33 was munching on gorse, while 72 was preferring the frost-covered grass.

Youngsters 219, 222, 226 and 235 plus older cow 940 were all grazing in the sunshine in the area around ///design.troubled.grins at 11:45.  They were all eating heather.  Youngsters 217 and 221 were grazing close by and were picking at the gorse bushes.

Both James Bond Pond and Horse Pond were frozen solid.  As I was walking around, I broke the ice in various puddles to provide drinking water should the cows wander past.  I also broke the ice on some large and deep water sources under the trees at ///tastings.fund.generated just along from where the first ten cows were found.

I wandered back along to see the initial ten as I was leaving, and they were all lying down, resting and chewing their cud except for cow 72 who was still grazing not far from where I first saw her.  Cow 230 was having a little snooze.

All the cows were good today.  They certainly seemed less bothered about the cold weather than me :).
