Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Sunday 4th December - All 17 seen

Youngster 235 was found happily munching on the grass around ///radar.zinc.tablet on Sandy Hill at 10:30 this morning.  Youngster 213 and older cow 940 were found grazing a bit further along the hill at ///rolled.improve.trickle.

Cows 20 and 30 were seen grazing in the area around ///flippers.broke.landscape about 20 minutes later.

Older cow 21 plus youngsters 221 and 228 were rooting for acorns under a tree at ///beads.voter.marching at 11:10.  Cows 33, 35, 217, 220, 222, 226 and 230 were widely spread out grazing in the area around ///starring.desktops.deflate.  They were finding some grass amongst the bracken and gorse.

After a long search for cows 72 and 219, I circled back to Sandy Hill and found they had joined the initial three, who were now at ///message.boils.lightbulb at the far end of Sandy Hill at 12:30.  Youngster 219 must have rubbed his head against a dirty tree at some point, as he had mud on his face and behind his right ear.

All the cows were good today.
