Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Saturday 17th December - All 17 seen

Walked for over an hour before finding the first four cows in the area around ///spray.grub.ritual at 11:20 this morning.  Older cows 20, 30, 33 and 35 were all busy munching on leaves in the trees.

Youngsters 217, 219, 221 and 230 were found wandering along the path at ///works.healers.cargo at 12:45.  It appeared they had lost the others and were mooing as they walked.  Soon after, they all climbed Sandy Hill.  Youngster 219 went off alone along Sandy Hill, while the other three stayed behind.  Again he was mooing as he went, but no one was answering him back.

The other nine were found a bit further along Sandy Hill around ///hype.entitles.flagging at 13:10.  Cows 72, 228, 235 and 940 were hunting for acorns when youngster 219 arrived and joined in.  Youngsters 213, 220, 222 and 226 were all grazing, munching on grass or picking at leaves.  Older cow 21 was in the gorse bushes alongside.  Some started walking towards the Shell garage end of site.

On the way back, as I got to Hungry Hill, I found cows 20, 33 and 35 again, munching on gorse in the area around ///imparts.petrified.nails.  Older cow 30 was deep in some gorse bushes close by.

Horse Pond was still completely frozen.  Thick ice was broken on large pools of water at the Royal Pavilion, side of Horse Pond, Sandy Hill, Longbottom and Shell Garage end of site.  I was also able to break the ice at the edge of James Bond Pond.

The cows were all good today.
