Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Saturday 17th February - All 22 seen

Cow 1396 and steer 1626 were found in the area around ///print.depth.interest at the Shell Garage end of the site at 10:40 this morning.  They stood under the trees and started to relax and chew their cud.  The other five cows were spread out in the gorse bushes to the south around ///refer.paths.obey.  They were all happily grazing.  I think steer 210 was a bit surprised to see me, but he wandered over to say hello.  After a while, the group of five emerged from the thicket and grouped together around ///forum.stew.nudge.

I bumped into youngster 228 as he was wandering down the track to the area around ///ozone.snails.warp near the Lookout at 11:40.  The fourteen other cows were already there and were spread out grazing in the surrounding area.  Most were enjoying lots of heather.  Steer 33 was deep in the gorse bushes.  The cows were all happy and relaxed, and were looking well.  Youngster 222 and the two yearlings were very friendly today and wandered over to say hello.  I stayed with the herd for a while as they grazed and fended off a couple of dogs who were off their leads.  The owners quickly called them back.

The cows were all good today.
