Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Thursday 15th February - 15 seen

Youngsters 222 and 230 were grazing at the Royal Pavilion end of the site in the area around ///wider.plenty.epic at 15:15 this afternoon.  Youngsters 217 and 219 were grazing a little to the south-east around ///doll.fats.venues.  All four were happy and relaxed and were looking well.

Steers 20, 21, 30, 33, 35, 220, 228 and 271 were all grazing in the area around ///sympathy.ghost.belt at 15.45.  They were spread out but were all enjoying lots of gorse and heather.  Youngster 228 came and said hello.  He had obviously been wading through the swampy land in the surrounding area, as his legs wee coated in mud.  Several of the boys were eating deep in the gorse bushes and took quite a while to come out and be checked.  They were all good.

Cows 72 and 940 and yearling 270 were grazing in the thicket around ///gifts.fades.attic, close to the covered reservoir.  The girls were eating lots of gorse.  Yearling 270 was exploring and was wading through large swathes of bracken.  All three were looking well.

I ended up spending a bit longer than planned with the group of eleven, not saying goodbye until nearly 16:30.  Some took a while to emerge from the gorse bushes, and it took a little while to navigate to cows 72 and 940.  As a result, I didn't get a chance to look for the other seven cows today.

The fifteen original cows were all good today.
