Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Tuesday 13th February - 15 seen

Steers 21, 30 and 219 plus cows 72 and 940 were all grazing in the area around ///doubt.parent.touches at 14:25 this afternoon.  They were all rather wet.  Most were eating leaves under the cover of the trees.  They were all happy and relaxed.

The other ten steers were down in the area under where the first group were grazing around ///bulbs.ports.pockets,  Nine were standing huddled together, relaxing and chewing their cud while watching the army who had set up camp.  Amusingly, steer 217 was standing by himself right in the middle of their camp, overseeing operations 😃.  He wasn't for moving, even when an additional truck turned up.  The boys were all looking well today.

Despite the frequent showers, I carried out an extensive search of the rest of the site, but wasn't able to find the seven newbies today.  I suspect they were hunkered down under some trees somewhere, keeping dry.  I was really hoping they would have shown some signs of integrating with the herd by now, but it seems they are happy doing their own thing.

The fifteen original cows were all good today.
