All fifteen original cows were up on Hungry Hill in the area around ///long.body.brass at 14:45 this afternoon. Most were spread out in little groups, munching on gorse in the many bushes. Youngster 222 was lying down, relaxing and chewing his cud. Youngster 228 and yearling 271 were standing fairly close by, chewing their cud. Older steer 30 and youngster 230 were lying down chewing their cud a little to the south around ///maybe.trophy.zoom. Youngster 217 was standing close by, while older steer 20 was eating in the gorse bushes alongside them. All fifteen were happy, relaxed and looking well.
Older steers 21 and 35 were standing chewing their cud around ///money.given.grips at 16:40. The other cows were in the pasture on the opposite side of the main path. Most were grazing. Cow 940 was lying down, resting, with steer 33 standing beside her. Some stragglers were still making their way down from Hungry Hill.
Despite another extensive search lasting until 17:10 when it was getting dark, I wasn't able to find the seven Sussex cows again today. I've honestly no idea where they were. I searched everywhere, including the Shell garage end of the site and the area where they were found at the weekend, but was unsuccessful. They are certainly winning at our game of hide and seek.
